Blog #8: New Technological Skills
✰ With the website design assignment, I acquired a lot of new skills. I was a bit nervous when it came to this assignment, especially since I have never created a website before, but also I was super busy within my week to try and manage it all together. One of the skills I learned to do is changing the theme and adding pictures on the pages! Another skill is embedding the URL code, like what we had to do for the Google classroom and for the CC License. It was just a lot to do in such little time on my end, and also it was difficult when it came to parent resources. However, for future reference, making a classroom will help students and parents keep up to date about assignments, activities, and events!
✰ Some new skills I learned with Diigo are being able to highlight on different website pages and using sticky notes to write down notes. It's nice to be able to write ideas and be able to analyze them when looking at articles. I do not really see a purpose in using Diigo in my educational career, but it'd be useful to use it to annotate current event articles and then be able to analyze it to teach for students. While I am being a history teacher, it is still important to teach current events, and being able to annotate things on my end can help me analyze a document before teaching it.
✰ In regards to keeping up with technology, teachers need to develop and continue to grow in their professional development. One of the ways to stay in trend with technology is to keep up to date with teacher blogs. Everyone has their own ideas and suggestions to bring to the community, and it can help improve teachers' skill sets. Here's the link to a blog that teaches how to stay up to date with technology
Hello, Bri!
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost, I want to say that your blog is so nice! The colors and pictures you chose make the website look so relaxing. I love it!
C: The color palette you chose to work with really worked in your favor. I will say, though, keep in mind that some images can be a little distracting. Your “About Me” page is nice but the image with the grass (I believe) made it difficult to read the text.
R: Overall, I think you presented the information in a very consistent manner. The images and text boxes in each section make for a cohesive unit. This is especially important.
A: The information is lined up effectively and neatly. I think you have a great understanding of alignment, as you arranged everything so precisely. And, the more precise you are, the more organized your website looks to users.
P: The spacing is great. When users come across your site, they will not feel bombarded when reading and digesting the information about your history class. With chunks of information that are related, you applied the proximity principle well.
Wonderful job!
Thank you! I was trying to keep the nature vibe from the home page, so It was lowkey a struggle finding a good background
DeleteHey Bri!
ReplyDeleteI was really impressed by your blog, and I thought it looked well put together and professional :D
Contrast: The colors you chose for your blog made it super easy to read everything, with exception of your about me page. If you were going to make any chances to your blog I would suggest making the background for that text box not transparent so that the trees don't make it harder to read.
Repetition: I thought that your blog's font and color scheme was very consistent across each page. Making sure all of your pages match is super important to making a good website.
Alignment: All of your text was appropriately aligned on each page and looked very organized.
Proximity: The text in your blog is nicely space and isn't too cluttered. Making sure that your spacing isn't too cramped is important to making browsing your blog a pleasant experience.
Hey Bri, your blog is very vibrant when it comes to contrast. It is very easy to read with the pink background and black text. I wouldn't say there is a repetition but a consistency with your blog in the colors and blogs. Alignment-wise looks excellent. When it comes to proximity, everything is organized perfectly to navigate and read.
ReplyDeleteHi Bri! Your blog is so engaging! The presentation is immaculate. It was very easy to navigate. You did an amazing job adhering to the CRAP guidelines. I will say, sometimes for some, it is hard to read words when they are placed over dynamic photos. Overall, the presentation and organization was great!
